Ironstone Farm, whose nonprofit programs help a variety of people including special needs children, was honored as the Nonprofit of the Year by the Andover Knights of Columbus at its 2015 Winter Warm-up Dinner Dance.
The Andover Knights of Columbus 1078 called the night “an opportunity to recognize and honor one of Andover’s secret treasures, Ironstone Farm.”
The Knights also made a contribution to Ironstone, as it continues the second year of its five-year capital campaign to further expand its facilities and programs to benefit more people. This winter Ironstone is putting the finishing touches on what will be an Arts and Education Center for adults with special needs that will help teach life skills.
The Winter Warm-up Dinner Dance began with cocktails, silent auction and hors d’oeurves, and was followed by a performance by Acting Out theater company, dinner and dancing at the Tewksbury Country Club. One guest went home with a 50-inch TV, following a live raffle.
