We are excited to announce Renée Gore as our Employee of the Month! Renée first came to the farm as a rider all the way back in 2001. Since then, she has worked almost every job there is alongside our horses, from a working student to our program manager and now to our Equine Operations Director! Renée is an invaluable asset to our organization and a true cheerleader for our mission. She goes above and beyond to care for our four-legged therapists and inspires positivity in everyone around her. We are grateful for everything she does for us and are so lucky to have her on our team.

What is your favorite part of your job?
Being able to teach horses how to trust humans, and then sharing them with clients, and watching the horse teach the humans how to trust.
Who is your favorite horse?
Anyone who knows me on the farm knows my heart horse is Ms. Jessica and that I have also become very fond of her baby Elliot, but one favorite that some may not know is Nicholas!
What is your fondest memory of Ironstone Farm?
I think the first time Jessica successfully did a therapeutic lesson. It was really rewarding to see all the hard work that went into her because many never thought she was calm enough to do it. That is when the passion for my job really came through.
What is an important lesson you have learned during your time at Ironstone?
Pause, listen, and think before you react; there is another mind on the other end of that conversation that deserves space to be heard as well.
