We are excited to announce Julia Messier as our Employee of the Month! Julia first came to Ironstone in 2019 as our volunteer coordinator and quickly fell into our Volunteer Manager role. Her outgoing personality and interpersonal skills really shined during her time supervising our volunteers. They were all greeted with a warm smile and a positive attitude.
This year, Julia transitioned into a new role as our Marketing & Communications Manager; our social media, website, and marketing platform have never looked better! She works countless hours, capturing all the important moments in various programs, and doesn’t stop there. Her community outreach and work sharing Ironstone stories have exceeded all expectations. Thank you, Julia, for your hard work and dedication to the storytelling you do daily. We are so lucky to have you here at Ironstone Farm!
GET TO KNOW JULIA
What is your favorite part of your job?
Capturing the stories of the people we serve! Whether it’s through interviews, photos, or videos. I feel so grateful to be even a small part of someone’s journey to a better life through Ironstone.
Who is your favorite horse?
Our mini donkey, Spud! He is full of character, and he always brings a smile to our client’s faces.
What is your fondest memory of Ironstone Farm?
I recently brought Spud down to surprise residents from a senior living facility who were at the farm for our Touch Therapy program. To see their faces light up when he came around the corner was something I will never forget. It was a small act that made a huge impact on their day!
What is an important lesson you have learned during your time at Ironstone?
Little moments matter! A 30-minute lesson can be the best part of someone’s week. A moment of laughter can make a connection between strangers. Everyone who comes to Ironstone treasures every last second of their time spent here, and it all adds up to create magic!
Thank you, Julia, for exemplifying our mission and values in all you do!
