Last year, we set out to renovate our paddocks and create a new and improved home for our superstar horses. The contributions of our 2021 Fund the Farm and Giving Tuesday donors allowed us to start 2022 moving into the final phase: building a brand new horse shelter!
We are excited to announce that our paddock shelter is completed and ready for use! Thanks to a dividing wall, this shelter will be utilized by horses in both our front and back paddocks.
The team over at Circle B Barn Company did an incredible job constructing a rock-solid foundation, framework, and metal roofing to guarantee the shelter will stand up to New England weather year after year. As a well-established and highly respected equine building company, Circle B Barn Company was the leading choice for bringing our plans to life.
An attached storage area has been added to hold hay, blankets, and equipment needed by staff and volunteers caring for our horses, and allow us to install paddock lights in the future to improve visibility for evening staff.
Words cannot express how grateful we are to each and every donor who made this project possible, including 2021 Gala honoree, Diane Tower for her generous $20,000 match towards our Giving Tuesday campaign. Together, our community raised over $40,000 to help fund a home for the horses at the heart of all we do at Challenge Unlimited at Ironstone Farm.
