Congratulations to our Volunteer of the Month, Patty Souillac!🎉 Patty’s dedication to Ironstone goes far beyond her time spent feeding and caring for our horses in the morning—she gives generously to support the farm in countless ways. She has a heart of gold, always going out of her way to make sure everyone feels included and welcome. Her kindness, bubbly personality, and deep love for our mission make her a joy to have around the farm. Whether she’s tending to the paddocks, lending a helping hand, or simply sharing a warm smile, Patty makes Ironstone a better place, and we’re so grateful for her!

How did you discover Ironstone Farm?
My niece and nephew were summer volunteers at Ironstone and I came to pick my nephew up at the farm one day. There was such a fun and welcoming vibe that I brought home the volunteer application and returned to submit it the next day!
What is your fondest memory you have from volunteering?
Back when I was helping with lessons, I was working with a nonverbal client who had never been on a horse. He wasn’t scared, but not really sold on the idea of riding. We started out on the trail and about halfway through the ride his aide and I noticed that he was smiling!  He was so engaged and truly enjoying the time with his pony. This was just the first of many breakthrough moments with clients that I was able to witness.
What does Ironstone Farm mean to you?
To me, it means that no challenge can limit us. Â We all have our struggles and Ironstone Farm is a uniquely wonderful place to come and be empowered to push through. Time with the horses and ponies transforms you!
Thank you, Patty, for exemplifying our mission and values in all you do!
