When it comes to basketball, Alyson is an all-star!
This month, we are thrilled to celebrate Alyson, a rider who has been part of the Ironstone Farm family for an incredible 25 years—and whose smile, infectious laugh, and positive spirit have brightened all of our days here at Ironstone Farm.
Alyson first came to Ironstone at age 22, shortly after moving back home to the Merrimack Valley. She was looking for a new activity—something that would build confidence and bring her joy. When she noticed her sister was riding weekly at Ironstone, she did what siblings do best and followed right along when the therapeutic riding program began.
Now, 25 years later, (WOW! 25 Years!) Ironstone remains one of the most important and meaningful recreational activities in Alyson’s life. At age 53, her weekly lesson is a cherished routine—one that boosts her self-esteem and helps her stay motivated throughout the week.
“Alyson looks forward to riding every week as her main thing to do for herself, so that helps her put work, chores, etc. in perspective for the week,” shares her father, Max.
According to Alyson’s dad, Ironstone has also been a constant source of stability, growth, and happiness.
