Meet Eisley! A passionate little rider with an inspiring sense of adventure, who we can all take note from. Eisley began riding at Ironstone Farm at just 2 years old and has made significant strides over the past twelve months. Born with a rare genetic disorder, Mosaic Trisomy 12, Eisley has developmental delays and decreased muscle tone. After a doctor suggested hippotherapy to aid in physical development, Eisley started her journey here at Ironstone Farm!
Eisley has been chosen as our rider of the month because she shows up to her lessons full of excitement and joy, always ready to try something new. She works hard each week, and her hard work is paying off as she discovers confidence and has become more comfortable trying new things, and is more open with the people around her. It’s been amazing to see how much she’s grown.
This isn’t just a space for her to work on balance and strengthen her core, but a space that can foster the joy and confidence Eisley exhibits. “Riding at Ironstone definitely prepped Eisley for being more independent and having fun outside of her comfort zone!” explains Andrew, Eisley’s father. “Riding provides a chance for her to participate in a sporting activity for fun and exercise. Eisley is a thrill seeker, and riding a horse is definitely a thrill.”
Eisley began her first lessons in tears, afraid of the unknown experience, and soon discovered her capabilities and pushed past her fears. She now loves to ride so much that she pretends at home, asking her parents if she can ride her stuffed animals like the horses here at Ironstone.
“Having the opportunity to ride a horse is not something everyone gets to do, and it means a lot that Eisley has been given that opportunity by Ironstone. Thank you for giving a girl with extra needs the opportunity to ride a horse!” -Andrew, Eisley’s Father
We are so beyond proud of our little rider for breaking barriers and discovering that anything is possible. Congratulations Eisley! We can’t wait to see what more you can accomplish in the coming years, and we are so lucky to have you!
