How did you discover Ironstone Farm?
I have an autistic son who started riding at Ironstone when he was 6. He rode here for over 20 years. I would sit in my car in the parking lot and soon realized I wanted to help, too. So, I have been volunteering for over 20 years also.
What is your fondest memory you have from volunteering?
There are so many great memories. One of my favorites is working with a young child named Juliet, who happened to ride Romeo. She was so afraid at the beginning, but within a few months, she couldn’t wait to ride and didn’t want to get off.
What does Ironstone Farm mean to you?
Having an autistic child, I can see what Challenge Unlimited can do for these children and adults. Spending time with clients and the incredible horses allows me to forget about my daily real estate work and focus on bringing joy to others. Ironstone is a “family,” and I am so glad to be a member.
Thank you, Elaine, for exemplifying our mission and values in all you do!
