How did you discover Ironstone Farm?
I first came to Ironstone some 25 years ago with my daughter and her friend who had a horse here. Shortly after I retired a friend mentioned her granddaughter was getting therapy at Ironstone and you needed volunteers. So here I am.
What is your fondest memory you have from volunteering?
Without diminishing the enjoyment I get from all the clients I help with, it was particularly memorable to watch young students in the group sessions experience the calming effect horses can have. I see they are able to enjoy themselves as individuals.
What does Ironstone Farm mean to you?
Both my wife and daughter are child advocates representing children with special needs and life’s challenges. So in some small way, I am sharing their passion of trying to make the children’s lives better.
Thank you, John, for exemplifying our mission and values in all you do!
