Remy’s story: Rider of the Month March 2026

Apr 7, 2026

This month, we celebrate Remy, a valiant little rider whose success in the saddle blossomed into improvements off the farm and in her everyday life.

Remy arrived at the farm at 2 years old after a rare genetic neurodevelopmental disorder diagnosis, HNRHPH2, which left her with many unique challenges. She was referred to Hippotherapy at Ironstone shortly after to tackle adversities surrounding speech, stability, and strength.

Hippotherapy provided Remy with tailored activities on a horse, which ultimately led to improved muscle tone, strength, balance, speech, and confidence. She was hesitant at first, but warmed up quickly to our herd and staff. Now in our therapeutic riding program, Remy finds herself very chatty during lessons and on trail rides, especially on her favorite horse, Jessica!

At 6 years old, Remy continues to ride at Ironstone Farm, where she and the whole family can enjoy seeing the horses. Remy now approaches new situations with enthusiasm and walks and talks with self-assurance. Remy’s mom, Julee, is looking forward to more milestones seen off the farm and in everyday life, including improved strength and movement, running, and jumping.

The therapeutic riding program makes a significant difference in the lives of kids like Remy. Hippotherapy is a unique challenge for her that provides great improvement in her strength and has helped her gain and maintain essential life skills.”  -Julee (Remy’s Mom)

Remy, we are so proud of you! Our whole team of horses and humans looks forward to having you at Ironstone every week. Thank you for sharing your fun-loving spirit with us. Congratulations Remy!
