The Sponsor a Child program started after government and private insurance companies began scaling back on the therapy they would pay for. The generosity of our Sponsor a Child donors has ensured that dozens of children each year continue to receive the therapy and therapeutic riding services they need, despite these cuts.
Additionally, funds raised in our program help to partially sponsor children who come for equine-assisted therapy through Early Intervention centers (helping those under the age of 3). Money raised in the Sponsor a Child program helps to cover the difference between insurance coverage and the total cost of these therapeutic services, allowing all children to receive the benefits of equine-assisted therapy, regardless of income status.
Sponsoring a child for a full year of therapy at Ironstone Farm costs $2,500. Payment can be provided upfront, in 10 monthly payments of $250, or compiled between family members, friends, or co-workers. Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated.
